ECE Workshop Facilitating
Cheryl has years of experience facilitating different format and topics workshops for different audience, from lecture style to more hands-on and interactive workshop. Workshops provided are of diverse topics, from cooking with children, to music and movement, and working with families. Workshops can presented in English and Chinese.
Being in the field for the past 20 years, I know the challenges that ECE and parents and caregivers have to work with, such as limited budget, multi-age children, working with children with diverse needs and interests; I also know what activities and the preparation required to increase success and learning engagement. With these in mind, along with the goal of meeting the needs of the targeted audience, I carefully design my workshop focusing on practical, hands-on, economical and engaging, that caregivers can easily do at their own home or family childcare or group child care centre.

Circle Time with Children Learning English
Growing up as an English Language Learner (ELL) herself, as well as working with many ELL learners in her career Early Years field, Cheryl understands the challenges that English Language Learners encounter, and the ways to help them learn English through interactive songs and rhymes. Come for a fun-filled workshop with selected songs and rhymes designed for English learners under 5 years old, as well as tips and strategies for educators to help English Language Learners. Workshop suitable for ECEs, FCC, Multi-age provider, and Early Years facilitators.
Multicultural Storytime:
Join us to explore tips and ideas to incorporate diversity into circle time, to reflect the increased diversity in the early years program. Learn new ways to enhance circle time, increase cultural awareness and connect children of diverse backgrounds, using different storybooks, songs and rhymes that celebrate families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
More than felt stories…
Discover simple and practical methods to engage and hold children’s attention during story time without using felt pieces. Learn a variety of techniques to make up stories with children and how to bring the story to life… Learn to tell stories using materials such as a piece of paper, a napkin, and a water bottle. Add some variety to your circle time with “Draw-a-Story”, “Fold-a-Story”, and “Colour-a-Story”.
Wiggles and Giggles: Incorporating Music Movement into Curriculum
Learn ways to incorporate developmentally appropriate, playful, accessible physical activities into daily early years programs, using music and movement.
